What you are looking at
A solves the real eigenmodes of a membrane or plate and excites them with the spectral energy of your audio through a damped resonant response. The figure you see is the one that frequency actually produces.
B integrates the linearised free-surface equations with an oscillating effective gravity. Water responds at half the drive frequency, which is the Faraday signature.
Panel B is dimensionless: real water at 440 Hz would make sub-millimetre capillary ripples. The Ω sliders map the audio onto a visible range.
